This proposal for a twelve metre glass panel would contribute to the calming, welcoming atmosphere of the main entrance and waiting area; an area of the hospital is one that people of all ages and from all walks of life will pass through whilst visiting the hospital, both as patients and as the relatives and friends of those receiving treatment.

The portraits included in the panel convey relaxed and calm body language, characteristics intended to be a source of calm for the visitors to the hospital.

An award winning competition entry, 2001 A panel measuring 1.2m x 0.6m was commissioned and installed at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, in March 2001
