Guiding Line: Little Rectangles
The notion of the line being drawn through a space to give direction is a simple one. In parks we follow pebbled pathways; and in darkness, we follow illuminated street lamps.
The hand-blown then kiln formed glass rectangular components are inserted into wall and floor surfaces, creating an illuminated guiding line.
The line, and particularly the quality of the components, suggests that the destination, though hidden is interesting enough to make the exploration worthwhile. Our information seeking intuition is brought into play, and is driven and rewarded by the pleasure we find in exercising it. The line of light and colour would entice, it does not indicate the nature of the location to which it is heading, instead reinforces other more overt signs.
