For Woodsyre
As featured in Grand Designs Magazine, May 2007.
Commissioned to design and manufacture a bespoke illuminated glass panel for the kitchen of a 1960's terrace house in South East London. It was my intention to create a piece that would complement and enhance the recent architect designed interior refurbishment scheme, whilst providing the family and their visitors with an ever varying composition; as an individual moves around the kitchen and dining area their view of the irregular concertina alters, this coupled with the sensitive integral illumination and changing ambient lighting conditions lends itself to becoming a lasting source of interest. The overall panel, formed with with sheet glass in two colours is essentially simple, yet inevitably sumptuous due to the intrinsic qualities of the glass.
